Remix OS 2.0 is a first ever Android operating system that can be run on with any PC as like a Windows and Mac. The OS was initially availed only on their Remix Mini and Ultratablet devices only. Later, the developers changed their mind and made this operating system available for everyone. After the great success of Remix OS 2.0 Alpha test and overwhelming response from the customers, the official developer has released Remix OS 2.0 beta version with a plethora of improvements and new features.
The Remix OS 2.0 Beta officially support to install the operating system on Hard drives. Surprisingly, the package also now supports the 32 bit systems and has more new features as well.
What is new in Remix OS 2.0 Beta:
Works on Hard drives:
The Alpha version was offered to install only on USB 3.0 powered Removable disks which was not worked flawlessly on old computers. Unlike the previous build release, the Remix OS 2.0 Beta can be installed on Hard drives as a secondary operating system on your computer. Therefore, you can dual boot your PC with Remix OS 2.0 beta and Windows 7, 8 or 10. Unfortunately, this Beta version, currently only supports Windows operating system for hard drive installations. If you are a Mac and Linux user, still you need to wait until next update.
32 Bit support:
The developer now integrates the 32-bit support with the Remix OS 2.0 beta package. So, you can install this Android 5.1 based operating system on your old computers too. However, the 32-bit version currently supports only Legacy BIOS and no support for UEFI booting. We can expect the UEFI support in upcoming updates.
Alongside the features as mentioned earlier, The Remix OS 2.0 beta also includes the support for UEFI and has fixes for more than 50 bugs.
How to download and install Remix OS 2.0 Beta on hard drives or flash drives:
As we already said in the previous post, don’t download the Remix OS Beta ISO from any unofficial sites. Head over to the official site Jide, and click on the download button. You will be scrolled down to the download section which contains the option to download Remix OS 2.0 Beta 32 bit and 64-bit versions as like below image. Download the package which is better suited for your CPU.
Once the package got downloaded, extract them to a local folder and launch the “Remix OS Installation Tool” and locate the “Remix OS for PC beta” ISO file by using the browse option.
Select either Hard Disk or USB drive from the Type option. Choose the drive where you want to install Remix OS and click on the OK button. That’s it, wait until the setup gets completed and reboot your computer or laptop. Follow the onscreen instruction during the installation and complete the setup.
Note: During the installation process, your computer screen may get turned off. It is a normal process of Remix OS 2.0 Beta for PC installation and no need to worry about that.
