Facebook autoplay videos is a new controversial feature that auto-plays videos in the news feed. This is a crucial feature for many users who are using small data packages.
Fortunately, FB allows the users to disable it both on the web and mobile app platform. Do you also hate the new feature and want to disable it? Follow the below steps to disable Facebook auto-play videos in your new feed.
Guide to disable Autoplay videos in Facebook newsfeed:
Unlike the other tutorials, you have to configure both the mobile app and web platform manually to turn off the video autoplay mode completely.
To disable video autoplay in Facebook website:
Go to the Facebook website and click on the Downside icon that is located at the right corner of the screen. Now select the Settings menu from the list of options like below picture.
Once you navigated to the Settings screen, click on the Videos option that located in the left side pane screen.
After clicking on the videos option, you will be redirected to the Video settings screen. In the current display, go to Auto-Play videos section and select Off from the drop-down box.
Finally, you have successfully configured your Facebook website platform from auto-playing videos. If you have installed facebook app on your smartphone, you should also configure it to disable the feature. We have also provided the guide at the last section if this post.
Additional Tips for Web users:
Moreover, on this same screen, you can change the Facebook newsfeed video quality too. To change the video quality, go to Video default quality section and select your desired option.
Default: If you selected the default option, the Facebook plays videos in either HD or SD based on your internet speed.
SD only: This option helps you to force FB to play all videos in standard quality that may help you to save more data.
HD if available: You can force FB to play videos in HD mode by selecting this option.

To disable video auto-play mode in iOS/iPad/Android/Windows Facebook app:
Launch your Facebook app from your smartphone and tap on the more Menu button (Three horizontal dash icon). Scroll down until you reach the Help & Settings section.
Tap on the App settings menu and select Videos play automatically option under the General settings. Now, choose the Off radio button to disable the video auto play feature. Moreover, You can also select the Wifi only option if you want to play videos in news feed when your device connected to WiFi.
Additional Tip: In the same General settings section, you can also force FB to open external links in the browser instead of loading within the Facebook App. To do so, just disable the Links open externally option in General Settings.
